Apogee Integration, LLC  is seeking a Systems Architect in Chantilly, VA.

Description:

The Enterprise Technical Reference Architecture activity is to assemble, develop and maintain an enterprise level technical reference architecture for GEOINT to satisfy the customer’s statutory requirement in 50USC403 to “prescribe technical architecture and standards related to imagery intelligence and geospatial information,” to serve as an authoritative source of information about GEOINT that guides and contrains architectures for solutions, services, and data so that they can be responsive to stakeholder requirements. A reference architecture includes key elements: a statement of strategic purpose, technical positions (including technical standards), patterns of abstract architectural elements, and a vocabulary.

Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience developing technical reference architectures in DoD or the IC. Specific task responsibilities may include:

Develop Enterprise Reference Architectures in subject areas such as Integrated Security, Cloud Computing, Identity and Access Management (IdAM), Remote Site, Data Center, and Network Operations
Coordinate with subject matter experts, enterprise architects, and other stakeholders to identify and baseline suitable patterns of architecture elements in core areas of the enterprise architecture including but not limited to: services/Applications, service management, data architecture, Infrastructure, security, standards (GEOINT and IT)
Synthesize architecture principles and technical positions that align with Organizational, Business, and Technical Objectives for transforming the enterprise to be applied to contractual documents to guide and constrain proposed solutions.
Identify technical standards profiles for GEOINT and IT standards applicable to solution architectures to impose interoperability between many and diverse GEOINT and business services solutions
Research emerging technologies and solutions planned in the technology roadmap
Recommend changes in processes, policies, and applicable standards as they relate to the architecture and design principles to ensure that a consistent framework is applied across the agency
Provide technical guidelines for Reference Model (JARM) investment insight.
Provide technical guidelines for constraints on use and tailoring of the DoDAF Metadata Model 2 (DM2)
Develop assessments, presentations, white papers and other analyses, as required
Communicate reference architecture concepts and demonstrate value to customers not versed in architecture principles

 

Required Qualifications:

 

Active TS/SCI clearance
BS in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent
15+ years in Systems Engineering or related field, with a minimum of 10 years of recent agency-specific experience
3+ years demonstrated experience leading teams developing/integrating architecture models across the capability, operational, and solution domains to include both structured (functional decomposition) and object techniques
3+ years in architectures supporting a mission critical operational and solutions development effort
2+ years’ experience with IC, NSG or NGA operations (including mission partners)
2+ years in architecture development and analysis (Preferablly DoDAF), requirements and Interfaces analysis
Awareness and use of key community reference models (JARM, FEA-CRM)
Excellent facilitation, oral presentation, and writing skills to include reference architecture  development
Ability to work independently, within a team,  and/or lead a team of other architects/engineers

Desirable Qualifications:

MS in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent
EA Certification by a recognized Government or academic institution
Working knowledge of agile engineering principles, Scrum agile, or SAFe Agile methodologies
Knowledge of the NGA acquisition process and RFC process to include RFC preparation
